This week I managed to add about 1,300 more rings to the bodice, focusing on shaping the sleeve on the right side and completing the bodice's sides. I also did some work on the neckline and back of the dress. The entire piece is taking shape, and I'm pleased with the progress to this point.
Happy Blog Day! I'm sorry that there haven't been new blog posts in the past few weeks. I had a sinus infection that brought all Siouxsiequeue's work to a halt. Happily, thanks to my excellent doctor, I'm running at 100% again and am (finally) back to work, which brings us to the reason for today's blog, The Cocktail Dress Project!
Happy Blog Day! I've been looking forward to this week's blog update because I have started work on the Cocktail Dress project! I received the first box of rings last Friday and started right away, though I haven't completed as much work as I would have liked. I have a super fun sinus infection, and it's challenging to focus on small rings when you're full of decongestant.
Times are tough. I know that is a bit of an understatement and an oversimplification, but there you go. I bring this up because a few of you (no, really, this isn't an attempt to sound like an "influencer") have asked how to support Siouxsiequeue's, in particular, and Small Business, as a whole, without spending money. After all, not everyone has money to burn right now.
ve wanted to make a chainmaille cocktail dress for a while. A few years ago, a friend of mine shared a photo of an unbelievably beautiful Dior dress, and I've been thinking about doing a similar style ever since.
